Answering a booking request
1 min read · Updated 24 September 2026
Depending on your setting, a traveller either books instantly by paying or sends a request you accept or decline. Both are handled from Bookings.
The delay matters most
A request left unanswered for 24 hours is a lost booking: the traveller wrote to three places and will take the first to reply. If you cannot decide now, reply anyway.
Accepting
One click sends a payment link valid for 24 hours. The dates are held during that window and released automatically if payment does not arrive.
Declining
Give a reason: it is not sent to the traveller, it is for you. If you are declining because the dates do not quite work, offer alternatives in the same message rather than a flat no.
What to write
Confirm what is booked — dates, number of guests, total price — say what happens next, and ask one open question. The approximate arrival time will do, and that question is what turns a traveller into a regular.
