Entering the tourist tax

1 min read · Updated 24 September 2026

The tourist tax is not your revenue: you collect it for the local authority and pass it on. It must therefore appear separately everywhere.

Finding your rate

Set by the local authority, per person per night, depending on your property's classification. A departmental surcharge is often added. The authority's own decision is the only document that counts; your tourist office will provide it.

Exemptions

Minors are always exempt; other cases depend on the local decision. Enter the age limit that applies to you and the calculation follows it automatically.

What your website does

The amount is calculated at booking, shown on its own line in the guest's summary, carried onto the invoice, and totalled in your statistics — so you have the amount to pass on without recalculating it.

Passing it on

You pay the local authority at the deadline it sets, usually every six months, with a summary of the nights sold. Keep the detail per stay: it is what an inspection asks for, and exactly what your export contains.

Your direct booking website

Twenty minutes to see what it would look like for your property. No commitment.
